WhatsApp Calls
Connect an eligible customer-owned WhatsApp Business number to a published EVA or Cartesia agent. Customers use their own Meta billing account.
Before connecting
You need a Meta business account, an eligible registered WhatsApp Cloud API number, and access to approve the connection. Calling permissions and country eligibility are controlled by Meta.
The page can show Platform setup required while EVA’s Meta integration is being configured. In that state, onboarding cannot complete; contact the EVA team.
Set up your connection
- Open Deploy → WhatsApp Calls.
- Follow the business account and number connection flow when available.
- Select the published agent version that should answer calls.
- Review calling direction and the recording switch.
- Test an incoming call, then an outgoing call where Meta permits it.
Outgoing business calls require the applicable customer calling permission. An outgoing call may be unavailable even when incoming calling works.
Turkish numbers and the mobile app
Eligibility can differ for +90 numbers. Review the warning and capability status shown for your number; the presence of the feature does not guarantee that Meta enables every calling direction.
If the same number is used in the WhatsApp Business mobile app, confirm its supported coexistence and call-routing behavior during onboarding. Do not assume that app calls automatically reach the EVA agent.
See Meta’s Calling API documentation for current eligibility and permission rules.
Costs and records
Meta charges, when applicable, are paid directly by the customer and are separate from EVA usage. Recordings are enabled by default per number, with a switch to disable them. Review completed calls in Data → Call History.
